The Wreaths Across America organization honors and remembers our nation's veterans who are laid to rest in 3,100+ different locations nationwide. Our Chairman, Jeff Coleman, delivered over 500 balsam-fir memorial wreaths to Sunset Memorial Park in Dothan, Alabama on Thursday, December 16.
Jeff Coleman completed a 3,200-mile round-trip journey from Dothan, AL to Columbia Falls, Maine to pick up and delivery 6000 wreaths to cemeteries across Alabama. “I am humbled and honored to participate in Wreaths Across America,” said Jeff Coleman. “It’s a small token of my gratitude to honor those who have valiantly served and died for our great country.”
The Wreaths Across America mission to remember, honor, and teach is impossible without the transportation industry. Veterans’ wreaths move by planes, trains, and livestock trailers, but trucks and their professional drivers transport the lion’s share of America’s respect. Many of these drivers are veterans and say the truckload of fresh, balsam-fir wreaths is the most precious cargo they transport in their careers.
Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. The organization’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at thousands of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
