When moving day finally comes, there will likely be moments when you feel like you’re spinning in a tornado of questions and decisions to be made. Your Nashville movers will take care of all the heavy lifting, but take our advice and come up with a strong organizational plan for your big move.

Scheme up a system. When moving days comes, you should know where every single box on the truck goes. Every box you pack should have something written on it, preferably with the room it’s going to (ie. “Master BR”) and the contents (ie. “shoes”). Some folks even like to have color-coded system, where each room has it’s own color or packing/duct tape. But even if it’s just writing with a sharpy on the top of each box, keep your boxes organized based on where they need to go in your new home.

Be the traffic cop. Every move needs a traffic cop, and that’s probably going to be you or someone in your family. Just standing in the doorway pointing the movers the right way might seem like it’s not very important. But trust us, that’s a vital role that only you can play. Designate yourself or a family member to be the traffic cop, and you’ll be amazed how many fewer questions will come up.

Don’t be afraid to speak up. The most important thing is, don’t deliberate or be fickle. Make decisions and make them quickly. Moving day is too long and too stressful to stand around deciding where the paperclips to go. Just get each box to the correct room and move on.
