The Greater Dallas and Fort Worth area offers a variety of events and choices to help celebrate our nation's birthday in style. Here are four that we thought you might enjoy:

Plano sits roughly 25 miles north east of downtown Dallas, and Plano's Independence Day celebration offers a full day of events that include the following activities: a 9 a.m. Independence Day Parade down Independence Parkway, the Plano Symphony Orchestra for Patriotic Pops performing at the Eisemann Center in Richardson (click here for tickets), and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. over Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve. If you attend the fireworks display, make sure to listen to KLAK 97.5 for select music that will be synchronized with the firework show.

3. Frisco - Freedom Fest 2012 View Larger Map

This is another great family-friendly option that offers plenty of variety for all attendees.  There's a community stage, a food tasting area, a children's expo, and many local vendors offering various activities.  Attendees looking to get a sports fix can also watch FC Dallas compete against Toronto FC in an MLS League match starting at 8:00 p.m. The soccer match will also provide fans in the stadium a prime viewing spot for the Fireworks Extravaganza that begins at 10:00 p.m. For more info on Freedom Fest, please click here.

4. Dallas - Fair Park Fourth View Larger Map

Dallas presents the area's largest fireworks display over Fair Park.  During the day, Fair Park offers free admission to all of the different museums and the Children's Aquarium park.  The event begins at 4:30 p.m. on Independence Day with the Fireworks concluding the evening at 9:30 p.m.  You can visit Fair Park's website for some info.

These are just some of the many events happening in the Dallas area on July 4th!  We hope that everyone has a great holiday!
