Plano sits roughly 25 miles north east of downtown Dallas, and Plano's Independence Day celebration offers a full day of events that include the following activities: a 9 a.m. Independence Day Parade down Independence Parkway, the Plano Symphony Orchestra for Patriotic Pops performing at the Eisemann Center in Richardson (click here for tickets), and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. over Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve. If you attend the fireworks display, make sure to listen to KLAK 97.5 for select music that will be synchronized with the firework show.
2. Allen - USA Celebration View Larger MapIf you're looking for a great family-friendly option, this may be the 4th of July celebration for you. The event is free and drew an estimated 85,680 attendees to the 2011 event. The event is located in the Market Street area and will feature live music from Radio Disney and 80's all female band The Bangles! For more information on this event, click this link.
3. Frisco - Freedom Fest 2012 View Larger MapThis is another great family-friendly option that offers plenty of variety for all attendees. There's a community stage, a food tasting area, a children's expo, and many local vendors offering various activities. Attendees looking to get a sports fix can also watch FC Dallas compete against Toronto FC in an MLS League match starting at 8:00 p.m. The soccer match will also provide fans in the stadium a prime viewing spot for the Fireworks Extravaganza that begins at 10:00 p.m. For more info on Freedom Fest, please click here.
4. Dallas - Fair Park Fourth View Larger MapDallas presents the area's largest fireworks display over Fair Park. During the day, Fair Park offers free admission to all of the different museums and the Children's Aquarium park. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. on Independence Day with the Fireworks concluding the evening at 9:30 p.m. You can visit Fair Park's website for some info.
