It is likely that during your relocation you will have large flat pieces of glass to move. Glass 
requires many specialized moving services and packing services. Whether it be tabletops, mirrors or framed pictures or art, your items will need to be packaged much more delicately than your other items to prevent shattering.
Glass pieces like art and mirrors should be cautiously wrapped in heavy duty bubble wrap and the wrapping should be taped in place. The items can then be placed in specialty mirror cartons. This is sure to keep any normal sizes glass item safe and secure during your relocation, so long as they are packed near soft items in the moving van.
For over-sized pieces like tabletops or exceptionally large mirrors, bubble wrap may not be the most efficient nor is it the safest option. Larger glass items like that should be wrapped in moving pads or moving blankets. These should be taped in place.
Glass items should never be left lying flat especially while moving as this allows for a greater chance for cracking and shattering. Instead, glass items should be stood up on their side and pushed between softer items for transit. A clever idea to create padding for your glass is to place items like stuffed animals, blankets, sheets and even clothing in garbage bags.
