Coleman Worldwide Moving, the largest agent for Allied Van Lines, was visited by US Senator Richard Shelby on the morning of February 17. The Senator’s trip was during his annual visit to all of Alabama’s 67 counties and was Shelby’s first visit to Coleman Allied's corporate campus, located in Midland City, AL. The Senator spoke briefly in a town hall meeting with company employees. Jeff Coleman, CEO of Coleman World Group, presented Shelby with a gift that commemorated Coleman’s Centennial Anniversary in 2014. Before receiving the gift, Shelby expressed that Coleman Allied should be commended for its 100 year history and thought the company’s size, employment numbers and growth was impressive. Shelby also commented on Coleman’s beginnings in the state of Kansas and the organization’s ties and past relationships with Senator Bob Dole noting that Dole was a mentor to him when he first entered the US Senate.
During Shelby’s visit, he was greeted by the Coleman family and shown some of the company’s trailers and the antique trucks that are showcased at the front of Coleman’s campus. “I have been honored to work with Senator Shelby and to know him over the years. He is a great advocate for our industry and strongly supports our largest customer in the U.S. military. I am encouraged to have a voice in Washington who cares for the Wiregrass Community and the State of Alabama,” said Jeff Coleman. “I felt this was a great opportunity to showcase the family atmosphere at our company as well as the size and scope of our operation.
